STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES FOR PARTICIPATION

 

Fees:  $50.00 for one 10’ x 10’ space

Please submit 3 current, close-up photographs (or *.jpgs for on-line application) of fine art/fine craft and one booth photo.

Photos should be representative of work to be displayed at this event.

Photos may be used in promotional materials and on the Biloxi Art Association website

  Deadline: NOVEMBER 7, 2008

Make checks payable to the Biloxi Art Association.

 

 Set-Up Hours:  7:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Saturday & 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Sunday
SETUP MUST BE COMPLETED BY MALL OPENING HOURS.

Tables and displays MUST have rubber protection to avoiding marring mall floor. 

o         Artists must be responsible for the original creation of the work they sell.  A very high degree of skill and competence must be evident.  Commercially manufactured items, commercial molds, patterns or kits are not acceptable.

o         Only original artwork, properly signed, may be hung in the booth. Unframed commercial reproductions may be shown but should be kept to 50% of total work displayed and must be clearly marked reproduction.

o         You may not sell another person’s creation or work. All artists represented in a booth must be registered.  

o         An accepted application is a commitment to attend the show. No refunds will be made for any reason. NO EXCEPTIONS. Fees shall be refunded to those not accepted.

o         Artists must show for the full two days of the event. Artists are required to staff their exhibit throughout the show’s entirety. No surrogates or representatives may be allowed to sell artwork.

o         Absolutely NO purchased items bought for resale may be displayed or sold.

o         Booth size will be 10’ x 10’.

o         Canopies and Tents are not needed inside Edgewater Mall. Tables and displays should have rubber protection to avoiding marring mall floor.

o         ABSOLUTELY no break down before 6 p.m. on any day.  PLEASE NOTE: ALL SETUP MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE MALL OPERATING HOURS.

o         Artists are required to register at the Registration Booth and pick up their packets prior to setting up.

o         Reasonable effort will be made to assign booth spaces to artists, with special needs being considered first.  Preferences will be given in the order that applications are received. 

o         Electricity will be available.   Please note on your application so your booth will be assigned near an outlet.  Artists must bring own extension cord and tape as a precaution. Electrical cords may NOT be used in customer traffic areas or walkways.   Note also that the mall has a lot of skylights that provide natural light. 

o         Booths must be professional looking and tables should have covers that reach the ground. 

o         All signs must be professionally or computer generated and in good condition.

o         No undecorated boxes or non-display items should be visible during mall hours. No tape may be used on mall fixtures, walls and/or floors (except to cover cords).

o         Artists will bear the responsibility for all setup and break down, and provide displays. 

o         Security: The mall has 24-hour security; however, they cannot guarantee to safety of anything left unattended in the mall. 

o         Mississippi Sales Tax of 7% MUST be collected on all sales and turned in to the treasurer between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 23rd. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.
